What is Afebrile seizure?
Afebrile seizure is a young children convulsions during fever or infections, it remains for few minutes and is usually harmless. It develops within 24 hours of fever.

What are the Symptoms of Afebrile seizure?
Children will shake his whole body
Stiffness in body
loss of consciousness
high grade fever
Excess sleep
breathing difficulty
Vomiting

Define the types of Afebrile seizure ?
It is of 2 types:
Simple febrile seizures:
It remains for few seconds to around 15 minutes
It can occur at any part of body

Complex febrile seizures:
It remains for more than 15 minutes
reoccur within 24 hours
Affects one side of body

What are the Causes of Afebrile seizure?
It is caused due to high grade fever remains that last for longer duration or usually due to some frequent viral infections.
Post-vaccination seizures are the another cause that may caused due to vaccine where child may have low grade fever.

How to Prevent Afebrile seizure?
Best possible way is to manage childs fever and try to control it with supportive medications.

Most febrile seizures occur in the first few hours of a fever, during the initial rise in body temperature.
