What is Alopecia?
It is an autoimmune disease, also known as Alopecia Areata that leads to severe hair fall in 2 patterns either in few spots or general hairfall in severe form. It can happen to any hair bearing area but usually affects head and face hair.

Alopecia patients are mostly healthy and asymptomatic but it triggers psychologically, persons seems low esteemed and lack of confidence.

Severity of Alopecia according to parts:

Scalp – 70%
Beard – 30 %
Extremities – 4 %
Eyebrows – 2 %

Who are at higher risk of having Alopecia?
It mostly affects teenage till thirties. Men and women are equally suffered.
It would be more progressive if starts at early ages.
Genetic factor also play key role in hair loss as few immunity traits and genetic makeup e.g hair, eye, complexion and height are transferred through genes.

Is it contagious?
No, it is not contagious and could not spread through touch and air.

What are the different forms of Alopecia?

It is divided into different forms such as:
Alopecia Areata totalis:
It causes complete loss of hair

Alopecia Areata universalis:
It causes hair loss from whole body.

Diffuse Alopecia Areata:
It causes hair thining

Ophiasis Alopecia Areata:
It causes hair loss from sides and back of the head

What are the causes of Alopecia Areata?
Vitiligo
Thyroid
Pernicious anemia
Asthma
