A patient of 26 years old consulted us for his psoriasis. He was tired from scratching his skin, he felt severe itching and burning over his skin. His hands were very dry and skin became flaky with red spots in between. He felt pain after scratching his skin and red spots appeared more prominent.
He told us in winters his skin became more dry even lotions, oils doesn’t soothe it. He can’t wear gloves neither can cover his hands. He felt so ashamed by shaking hand with anyone. Sometimes, he even embarrassed while dealing with other people when they saw towards his hands.
He loves cooking but due to his skin condition he avoids cooking as he was afraid of spreading it to other family members.
He told us it all started when he change his city to got higher education and he had homesickness while he was into hostel and started to scratch his skin out of nervousness and his love for family.
We took his mental symptoms in brief and also gave sufficient time to his physical symptoms. We prescribed him low potency initially as to avoid any major flare up, and asked him to discontinue all lotions and oil. For first 3 months he showed very minor changes and mild effect on itching, we continue the same dose and same
