A child of 8 years visited my clinic with his parents for tonsillitis. His parents told us with every change of weather their son had tonsils. He cried a lot because he was unable to eat and drink properly.
They told us even if he had ice cream and any other cold food once in a month still then he caught cold and had high fever. Due to this reason his weight was stable and as compared to other children of his age he was growing slowly.
He became irritable and had less interest in studies and avoid sports too. He always wants to lie down and sleepy more of the time, became lazy and had mood swings.
He rubbed his eyes more oftenly, I saw he had redness in eyes with watery discharge. He constantly touched his throat as to get some relief. It affects his voice, that became hoarse and few words are even difficuilt to understand.
we prescribed him medicine as symptoms described by his parents. Took all his history and advised to stop all anti allergic medicines.
As soon as winters approached he was better this time as compared to before. We said to continue medicine for this winter and stops once winter pass on and then wait for the next winters to come. They did the same and when they visited us on next winters he was completely fine with no new outbreaks.
I took his complete history and asked his parents to give special attention in his diet during weather change. I prescribed him single dose of medicine and within 15 days his tonsils got better, with continuation of medicine for few months his complaints got cured completely.
