What Is Malaria ?

How it spreads?
Malaria is defined as life-threatening disease caused by female Anopheles mosquitoes who transmitted parasite to human body through bite. It spreads through bite of infected parasite contained mosquito, female mosquito bites a malaria infected person and sucks the blood (that consist of parasite) which she further inject into other healthy human via bite and spreads the infection. Once, parasite enter into the body, they lay eggs, multiple and starts to damage the red blood cells. It occurs mostly in hot and warm weather.

Can malaria be contagious?
Malaria is not contagious. But it can transmitted through:
Pregnant mother to child
Blood transfusions
Sharing needles
Organ transplant

Who are at higher risk of Malaria?
Infants
Children under 5 years
Pregnant women
HIV/AIDS
Non-immune migrants
Mobile populations
Travellers

What are the identification marks of Malaria?
Incubation period – 10 to 15 days after bite
Acute febrile illness
Fever
Headache
Even death
Anaemia
Muscle , joint pain
Respiratory distress
Multi-organ failure
Partial immunity
Discomfort
Nausea
Vomiting
Diarrhea
Pain Abdominal
Tiredness
Increase heart rate
Cough
